What is PROUT?

Prout is the acronym for Progressive Utilization Theory. It is a social and economic theory developed in 1959 by Indian scholar-author and activist Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. Mr. Sarkar sought a practical alternative to the theories and increasingly apparent failures of Marxism (communism) and Capitalism. Prout is based on universal values recognizing and protecting the rights of all to the fulfillment of their basic needs; the protection of the environment, plants and animals; and a dynamic, incentive-based multi-tiered economy. ano ang PROUT?

para kay Aian, ang PROUT ay isang mabisang alternatibo para sa naghihingalong sistema ng consumerism, capitalism at communism. It requires reading para maintindihan talaga ang konsepto nito.

i really can't explain it here, I just wanted to post it so that I can introduce it to people who are concerned about the state of capitalism today. basically, sa konseptong ito, ang mga tao ay mabibigyan ng mga bagay na naayon lamang sa kanilang pangangailangan, walang labis o kulang, walang mayaman/mahirap, at meron collective na properties involved. so from simple living, ALL people can progress to living an abundant life, equally.


it also emphasizes the maximum utilization (utilize, not waste, wasting materials is one of the flaws of consumerism.) of resources. Meaning, dapat natin i-harness the power of resources without destroying them, as this is necessary for progress.

yes, that may be true. but think about this.

if all people are given their NEEDS, then there would be less crime, less robbers, and there would be less corruption. the government should give the people what they need before feeding them those commercials you see on wowowee (no offense, papi will.).

Yeah, people are too closed minded to embrace an easier / more effective economic system.
